Naomh Seosamh CLG means St. Joseph’s GAA Club – Cumann Lúthchleas Gael (CLG) is the Irish for Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA).
Dia agus Éire (God and Ireland) and the cross are no doubt a connection to our primary founder – Father Harry Sinnott who was a Catholic Priest as well as an inspirational community activist. The pikes honour the heroes of the 1798 Rebellion and they remind us of their bravery and fortitude. A Gaelic Football sits at the intersection of the pikes to point out that we are a club focussed on Gaelic Football.
The 3 burning ships is a well known symbol of Wexford and is a nod to our turbulent Norman past where many wars and massacres took place.
